Black Park
80 x 120 cms
One of my earliest attempts at using a palette knife on a black canvas, a technique I borrowed from an artist called Onishenko. It's quite useful if there's a lot of twigs involved as it looks a lot sharper painting around them and leaving the canvas untouched to define them. There is also some scratching off which can also work.
The subject is a park near Gerrards Cross in Buckinghamshire which features a beautiful selection of, amongst others, beech trees surrounding a large lake, which can be seen in the background here.
